About Us

AWEN Singapore – Driving Singapore Women Entrepreneurs’ Success in ASEAN

AWEN Singapore, part of the Singapore Women Entrepreneurs Network (SG-WEN), is the Singapore national representative within AWEN, working to elevate Singapore women entrepreneurs on the regional stage.

Designated by Singapore’s Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), SG-WEN serves as a bridge between Singapore’s women entrepreneurs and the wider ASEAN region, promoting collaboration, development and empowerment.

VISION

Our vision is to be the preeminent network of women entrepreneurs in Singapore focused on helping them achieve the fullest potential in their businesses, for the benefit of the communities and economies they serve.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide a platform where Singapore women entrepreneurs and existing women business networks can unite and collaborate to influence culture and policy, and drive industry change in Singapore and Asia-Pacific, particularly ASEAN.  We will do this by advocating and promoting women business perspectives, facilitating knowledge sharing, fostering business partnerships and growth.

Focus Areas

Championing Women Entrepreneurs
- Roundtables with senior government officials and political office holders to dialogue on various issues impacting women in business
- Surveys to engage decision/policy makers for data-driven advocacy
Knowledge Sharing
- Fireside chats, networking and other knowledge sharing events for Singapore’s women entrepreneurs to network with and learn from speakers and each other, and which would help them grow as women entrepreneurs and transform their businesses
Collaboration with Other Groups and Networks
- Joint activities with other women groups in Singapore, including the women groups of trade associations and chambers
- Activities with visiting delegations from women’s groups in the region
- Overseas visits to meet and hold joint activities with women entrepreneur groups in the region
Recognition of Women Entrepreneurs
- Recognition of women entrepreneurs for their achievements and successes

AWEN Singapore Leadership

Since December 2021, Irene Boey has been leading AWEN Singapore as Chairperson. Her passion and efforts focus on connecting women entrepreneurs and promoting the interests of Singapore’s women entrepreneurs at AWEN.

Irene is also member of the Singapore Women Entrepreneurs Network Executive Committee, and chairs both the subcommittees for Research & Advocacy and RISE Programme (a training programme for Singapore’s women entrepreneurs).
